City Forward Collective provides support and resources to all types of schools in each of Milwaukee’s school sectors — MPS, MPS charter, independent charter, and private schools that accept public tuition vouchers. Our primary focus is on schools with open enrollment policies that accept all students.
Our programs provide resources and training to school parents and other community stakeholders; teachers, school leaders, and other educators; and governance board members.
Below are details for our current programmatic offerings. Check back frequently, as we expect to add more programs in the future.
The Emerging Leaders Program brings together a group of passionate educators for a year-long professional development experience from City Forward Collective designed to provide a hands-on introduction to school leadership.
Together, participants learn and collaborate on a project to improve their school while developing core school leadership knowledge and refining their plan for the future.
City Forward Collective and Alverno College operate a unique and rigorous master’s degree and principal licensure program.
The Burke Fellowship combines the strength and reputation of Alverno’s Administrative Leadership and MBA programs with on-the-ground school leadership coaching and Collaborative professional development from City Forward Collective.
Our professional development Collaboratives create a cross-sector community for Milwaukee school leaders and other education professionals to share challenges and successes, and get better together for the students they serve.
Collaboratives bring together participants that span school types, instructional models, and personal politics to support one another and share best practices. Leaders leave each Collaborative with practical tools they can begin using that same day.
